Marcello de Francisci: Ante Diem

Ante Diem is a solo album released by composer Marcello de Francisci, known among trailer music fans for the cues he did for Immediate Music (“Rex Eternum”, “Liberation”, “Grail Seeker”…).

 Ante Diem is an album rich with emotion, taking us on an epic musical journey, and making us discover ethnic, exotic and mystical places. If your imagination is fertile, you will suddenly find yourself exploring ancient and forgotten cities at times, walk in modern towns at other moments, or even wander dreamlike worlds…

“This album is very much inspired by some of the contemporary movie soundtrack scores of our time, alongside classical music and experiences I have had in various parts of the world”, Marcello de Francisci explains. “This collection of pieces which include the choral, orchestral and ethnic genres were adapted furthermore composed mainly with the idea of creating a musical journey […] Having had a somewhat eclectic musical carrer in the last few years, going from scoring films, to composing for the movie trailers industry and last but not least collaborating on an album with Lisa Gerrard titled Departum, let me to wanting to touch upon, unify and revisit all of these styles moreover ideas to bring a single unit of work in creating this release.”
