Woodkid’s Upcoming Album ‘The Golden Age’
Woodkid previewed his upcoming album last night during a truly epic concert in Paris, France.
Do you know Woodkid? His music was featured in the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer and his style, often described as “symphonic pop”, reminds a bit of Globus and Les Friction.
Strictly speaking, he doesn’t do trailer music. That being said, his musical genre is often cinematic and epic, which is the reason why one of his tracks, “Iron”, was chosen to be featured in a trailer for a famous video game, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, in 2011. Thanks to that, Woodkid quickly became famous over the internet.
“Iron”, Woodkid’s first EP, was followed about a year later by a second one, “Run Boy Run”.
Both music videos, which are very aesthetic, were made by Woodkid. The artist, also known as Yoann Lemoine, isn’t just a musician. Not only he is a singer and a songwriter, but he is also a famous music video director, and this probably helps him write music in a very cinematic style.
“Iron” and “Run Boy Run” will be featured in his first album, entitled The Golden Age and due out in early 2013.
With two EPs only, Woodkid has become quite famous over the internet, but he is rather unknown to the general public. However, it shouldn’t last for long! Indeed, last night, Woodkid did an amazing concert at Le Grand Rex in Paris; he previewed his upcoming album The Golden Age, and it was a total triumph. The entire album was highly appreciated by the public.
While the album won’t be released until early 2013, I can already tell you that it contains a lot of “symphonic pop”, in an epic and cinematic style. The Golden Age met my expectations and fans of bands such as Globus and Les Friction will probably enjoy it a lot. The item may easily become a must-have.
The end of the concert offered a thrilling version of “Run Boy Run” – the atmosphere was fantastic!
