2009: A New Epic Year Starts
Prognosis: 2009.
There is a new year ahead of us. If we look back to 2008 I think we had a really good year regarding the trailer music and it seems 2009 will be much more awesome. For us, fans the most expected news is when a company releases its music for the public and we are already aware of a bunch of these kind of plans. Let’s see one by one.
- We know that Position Music is going to add two more albums of its Orchestral Series. It’s also known that Volume 04’s composer is Trevor Morris. Release date is the early of 2009 (first half of 2009).
- I know from Armen Hambar, that Future World Music is planning to release an album as an answer of the pressure of the fans’ emails.
- As MAC mentioned E.S Posthumus is working on Unearthed 2, but we know nothing more about it. One of the brothers mentioned in an interview that they are working on it. Maybe it will be out in 2009, but bases on the time passed between Cartographer and Unearthed we can expect the soonest to the album around 2016.
- Rumor has it that Music Junkies and 615 Music are also planning to release albums for the public.
- And how can we forget about Nemesis 2? It has the most hype for sure, but not accidentally, because we know that Thomas J. Bergersen’s name is a guarantee for the quality.
- UPDATE#1: I have to mention, although we already knew, that Veigar Margeirsson is going to publish album(s) in 2009, but the albums will contain his film scores and not his production music. Thanks to Chris
I hope that Immediate Music will keep his good habit and surprise us with a concert of Epicon or a new album under Imperativa Records label in 2009. Also they will continue their Themes for Orchestra and Choir series with a 4th sequel. It is said it will be released early of 2009 too.
UPDATE#2: Pfeifer Broz‘s next release will be called Helsinki. It’s also a rumor, but the information originate from a reliable source. You know: from a friend’s friend’s mother’s friend’s roomate’s grandfather’s ex-lover’s dog’s hairdresser’s brother’s friend. Thanks to Chris
All in one: We can expect a lot of great albums from every company. If they really want to overwhelm 2008’s produces they must continue to compose extraordinary pieces of music, because 2008 set high expectations. We can hardly wait…
