Hoy, hoy! I watched the trailer of Serj Tankian’s new album when he preforms his songs rearranged with orchestra and I loved it, but it made me think: what the hell is missing? I just thought how awesome would it be with choir in the backgorund. And it led me to a question which I want to ask from you now: In your opinion which classic hit song have been rearranged in trailer music style?

Don’t forget that this has happened some cases already. Some songs from other genres were already reorchestrated and ended up in trailers. Just start the with the most famous one: " Requiem for a Tower"'s origin is Clint Mensell’s masterpiece "Lux Aetherna" from Requeim for a Dream. Movie soundtracks are not so far in style from trailer music, because usually scores are built from symphonic instruments as well, so it’s not really what I meant with song hit, but this one is the most well known.

Do you remember the trailers for the Underworld movies? During the trailer of the first sequel a song called "Red Tape" by Agent Provocateur was used. Later a symphonic version of this song was heard in the theatrical trailer of Underworld: Evolution. So what happend? Veigar Margeirsson kept the marked vocal of the original compositon and reorchestrated the song. It’s better or not – it’s not a question now. An other example is "Ten Years of Kashmir" by Corner Stone Cues. The original song, "Kashmir" was preformed by the rockband Led Zeppelin.

So my question is if you would have a chance to hear one hit reorchestrated in epic orchestra and choir which would you like to hear?

Well I would like to hear "All along the watchtower".
