Messages from the Vonlichtens: E.S. Posthumus on Facebook/Twitter

As many of you may know if you've been watching our Twitter feed, we've been ReTweeting some tweets by E.S. Posthumus.  E.S. Posthumus recently reworked their website, and just last month have built quite a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.  All these sites are dutifully updated by "The Guru" (aka their web designer), as she relays messages from the Vonlichten Brothers.

Tidbits like,

"ESP is back in the studio working on something very heavy duty. More details to come soon........"

Sounds intriguing!  There was also a hinting at a Vinyl release of Makara, if there's enough interest.

If you haven't started following E.S. Posthumus on Twitter and Facebook, and you're thinking, "Why should I bother?  They just write awesome music.  Do I really need to be reminded of that with random tweets and Facebook messages?", then, well, I'm not sure we can really convince you.  But, for everyone else, you might be surprised to hear that The Guru is holding occasional contests, for autographed CD's.  That's got to be pretty cool right? (It is.)

The question for the contest that's running now is "What is the title of the ESP song that is used in conjunction with Posthumus Zone during NFL games?".  My best guesses would either be 'Unstoppable' or 'Arise', but we'll find out today (March 4) at 5PM EST what the answer is.  I have no clue what the answer is, but perhaps we'll find out March 5 6 at 5PM EST.  You can head on over there to join the discussion, and post your answer.

UPDATE: The contest is still running; there's still time to enter!  Now into Day 3!

And come on.  Who doesn't want to know what Franz and Helmut are up to?

...because it does look like they're up to something..

E. S. Posthumus: We think it was worth the wait.

Hoy, hoy! It's better late than never, right? Back in december 2009 OSV interviewed E.S. Posthumus and we just missed it. Vonlichten brothers revealed some informations about their next album Deciphered. Altough its official name still not comfirmed yet, but the borthers talked about the creative process behind it. Read more here!

They've prefected this album since seven years now and traveled all around the world to find the best place for a recording. So they have a lots of work in this project. The brothers returns to their roots: the new album musical world will be much more similar to Unearthed. It's gonna be legend---

E.S. Posthumus' new album: It's high-octane, back-to-basics ESP!

Hoy, hoy! I've just received an e-mail from Tim, the admin of the unofficial home of E.S. Posthumus ExperimentalSounds.com. He wished good luck to the new site, but his mail reminded me to check his site..

I was surprised that he found a recent interview with the Vonlichten brothers published by the Paradigm Journal. The brothers talk about Cartographer, their way of creating songs and mention about their upcoming release. But let me quote them.

What's next for you?
(Franz) We're pretty deep in to production on our next record that we plan to release in November. It's high-octane, back-to-basics ESP. We are really excited about this one.

Remeber, remember the November... or whatever. Read the rest of the interview here.

Hoy, hoy! Tonight I just have two news:

  • I found an E.S. Posthumous fansite Experimental Sounds. I don't think any other exists out there. The site is edited by Tim, and it seems he doesn't have much time to update it, but I think he should not give up. So encourage him!
  • What is the fuel of Videohelper's creative minds? The answer is here. For more info click here! 100% Juice!

Clive Czechov's remix

Although this remix is pretty old I have a hunch that not all of you heard about this track since this issue have not been mentioned so often. Apropos of Arise (see below) has came to my mind this track by Clive Czechov. He remixed track Tikal from album Unearthed in 2002. E.S. Posthumus made this song available on their site. Listen to it!

E.S. Posthumus Arises!

Hoy, hoy! A new single track is available on CDBaby from E.S. Posthumus' new album named Deciphered. The track called 'Arise' and you can listen to its first 30 seconds on the above mentioned webstie. It starts with a violin and then ended up the traditional style of Unearthed that we love so much.

Thx to Edward
