5 minutes with FIRED EARTH MUSIC’s ‘Cyanite’ composer, Aleksandar Dimitrijevic

You've delivered a chilling collection of Horror, Thriller and Suspense for FIRED EARTH MUSIC's second album. Did you have to go to a dark place to produce sounds that will reflect and complement the most vicious moments of today's horrors?
In a way, yes. We all have part of ourselves that sits in the shadows. The more I’m in touch with mine, the better I can do projects like these. But it was always more natural for me to do darker side of music. Give me a comedy track to do and I'll start sweating.
Describe a bad or recurring nightmare that you have.
I guess that would be this post-apocalyptic dream, where everything is in ruins and rust. All the people that you see are in fear, dragging their old suitcases desperate to get somewhere, and I don't know where or what exactly happened for that matter. Only know that a lot of people are dead, and what survived is hurdling in fear. It’s hard to explain, but for me that’s one of the darker ones that pops up fairly regularly.
Which horror movie made a mark on you, growing up?
Too many to pick just one. But if I had to pick one it would have to be Hooper's "Texas Chainsaw"...but also Carpenter's work like "The Thing", "Halloween"...numerous Zombie flicks, and then there is "The Basket Case", perfect little horror from 80s ...

Cyanite Reel
Cyanite offers a diverse collection of sounds and moods. Which track did you enjoy working on the most?
I had great fun working on all of them, if I have to pick I'll go with Erotic Psychotic and Emerging Darkness.

Which of today’s horror characters would you least like to have an encounter with?

Fired Earth Music releases its second album: 'Cyanite'
Fired Earth Music contacted us to let us know about their newest addition to their library! First I'll introduce the company itself, if anyone missed our previous post about Fired Earth Music and their debut album Vulcano. (Be sure to check out their awesome new website, if you haven't already!)
FIRED EARTH MUSIC, launched Summer 2009, is the new music library causing a buzz in Hollywood. Providing premium cues exclusively for motion picture advertising, Fired Earth Music is working with esteemed trailer music composers to release small collections of high-end theatrical cues quarterly.
Their explosive first album, Vulcano, was composed by British Academy Award winner, Troels Folmann. Folmann has specialized in emotional and epic orchestral scores for feature trailers, including: Valkyrie, Xmen 3, Spiderman 3, 10,000 B.C., and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 to name a few.
Vulcano is Fired Earth Music’s epic debut album, described as:
“The ultimate hybrid fusing Dramatic Orchestral with Rock, Electronic and Tribal, all blazing with intensity, emotion and intrigue."

The small album contains 18 unique cues, each with alternate mixes and an effects pack. Check out the reel here:

Cyanite is their new album, and a wide range of themes are on the slab: slasher, hostage, mystery, suspense, abduction, torture, sex and sci-fi. This horror / suspense / fantasy album, was composed by the highly acclaimed composer, Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, whose cues have been used on campaigns for Spiderman, Narnia, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Underworld: Evolution. Cyanite is described as,
“A gritty sonic panic attack of bone-sawing and nerve-shredding cues from the edge of psychosis.”

Fired Earth Music is now turning their attention to their third album for release in December. We'll be sure to post about it here, the moment it comes out.
this BEAR knows trailer music!
Hoy, hoy! What we know so far about the naming restriction of production music library that there is none. So anything can be connected to trailer music like dogs, cats, apples and our new candidate is the bear. Or Daaa Baarrrrr if you're screaming it and you are a russian rock star. But let's face it: this kind of bear is a tough one and probably doesn't like honey either. I really like its style.
Alkesandar Dimitrijevic just drew our attention in our forum and now on his Facebook page to this reel of TeddyBearMusic. It's epic and full with choir. It is Alex's new production music library? Probably he referred to this demo when he mention in our forum:
[Listening] 25 of my new trailer tracks , while mixing them in to demos. alex
