Impact Music: Piano Solaris
Impact Music’s new industry release is entitled Piano Solaris – following the successful albums Pure, Extraction, Stardust and CineMaster Series 2012.
Piano Solaris is a collection of emotional and inspiring cinematic piano cues, composed by Grammy Awards nominee Mark Portmann.
Aerial and solar
Featuring a subtle combination of piano and strings, with emotional and inspiring themes, Piano Solaris delivers floating music, creating a delicate, evocative and compelling atmosphere and offering a timeless musical journey.
Stirring cinematic music
Opening in a reflective way, the tracks quickly build up to reach emotional climaxes, with stirring and powerful cinematic melodies. Piano Solaris, unlike several of its predecessors, is a classical album, perfect for advertising campaigns for dramatic and intimist movies.
Piano, but also strings
String arrangements beautifully accompany the piano themes in the main versions of the tracks, but alternate versions also exist in the album – featuring only piano in one case, and strings alone in the second case. The “strings” versions particularly deserve to be explored as stand alone tracks, offering a new source of inspiration.
Live recordings with a Steinway in Prague
The album was composed by Grammy Awards nominee Mark Portmann, a record producer and songwriter known for his work with various artists, including Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Christina Aguilera and Josh Groban; Piano Solaris represents a very different and more personal project. Mark Portmann recorded the piano parts himself, with a Steinway, along with the Symphony Orchestra of Prague (directed by Adam Klemens). The album was recorded in the famous Rudolfinum concert hall.
The orchestration was done by Adam Klemens and Hummie Mann, who also worked on the string arrangements along with Serge Colbert, producer of the album.
