OtherWorld Trailer Music: Chromosphere Vol. 01
After eight months in the works, Chromosphere Vol. 01, from OtherWorld Trailer Music, is finally out. It is the premiere trailer album release from composer Jacob Yoffee and mixing engineer Adam Schmidt.
“Stylistically, Chromosphere is ginormous, featuring epic rises and builds of terror, as well as scattered moments of repose and stillness.”
The musical genres featured are orchestral, hybrid rock/orchestral, electric/orchestral and electric/rock.
Jacob Yoffee and Adam Schmidt “were visually inspired by [their] favorite trailers. Sticking true to the “intro, middle , back end trailer” structure while simultaneously building brand new approach.”
Chromosphere Vol. 01 was made using unique samples. “We needed our own voice, so we created our own virtual instruments”, OtherWorld explains. “Jacob and Adam spent months field recording bizarre samples in parking garages, kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, hardware stores and even a dentist’s office. These recordings were then catalogued & processed, at which point, Adam created virtual instruments that can be played on a keyboard. You can hear these unique samples throughout the entire album.”
Jordan Passman, CEO of OtherWorld, also adds that “all of the tracks are a mix of live musicians and synth elements, and many of the percussion/drums & synthetic soundscapes were generated from those same field recordings. This helped to give inspiration during the composition process and provide some more grit and character to the sound palette.”
The original artwork was made by graphic designer Les Penland.
Chromosphere Vol. 01 is currently not available to the public for purchase. For licensing information, contact Jordan Passman at Jordan@scoreAscore.com or 310.890.4616.
About Otherworld
OtherWorld is a trailer music company founded in 2012 by Jacob Yoffee, Adam Schmidt and Jordan Passman. They focuse on epic music for motion picture advertising.
Jordan Passman notes, “OtherWorld derives from our love of film music, rock music, trailer music and huge production. This collection presented the opportunity to explore this larger-than-life realm while blending all of our favorite genres together.”
On the origin of the name OtherWorld, Jordan says, “To us, OtherWorld, as a title, allows for limitless direction. A world can be anything; a cold, icy landscape with no sign of life, or a dense, jungle filled with exotic creatures. It can be magical, futuristic, regal or subtle. It comes down to inspiration and with these tracks we wanted to allow for our excitement to come through. Needless to say, you can expect much more music from us!”
OtherWorld is distributed by Score A Score and can be found on Facebook and SoundCloud, while Score A Score is on Twitter.
