(Sorry about the fact that there is no red carpet, and no real statuettes…!)

Here are some more details about the Trailer Music Awards 2012: the aim of these Awards was, of course, to find out who or what was most appreciated in epic trailer music in 2012. Online votes started on January 7th, 2013 and ended on February 8th. People had two opportunities to vote, either via Facebook, or email.

2012 was a year rich in events, and saw the creation of various new companies, the release of many albums, the emergence of new and promising artists in the industry – whether they are composers, solo vocalists, graphic designers, conductors, producers… – excellent placements of tracks in trailers, and, in the end, a lot of new and sometimes incredible epic music.

Two Steps From Hell won many awards and is the big winner of the Trailer Music Awards 2012, which can make sense when considering their popularity – almost 140.000 fans on Facebook for example. In comparison, audiomachine has 32.000 fans and Immediate Music, 22.000 fans. That being said, there were some surprises among other winners. For instance, an army of Icelandic voted for their compatriot Veigar Margeirsson, who composed the album Rise Above, allowing this album to beat SkyWorld from Two Steps From Hell… and win the award of the Best Album.
